Hello,
My WBP (work based project) is based upon both my professional experience as well as a personal desire to create a model based on metaphors (narrative based) for SMB (small to medium size businesses) and facilitate a clear understanding of the process by which SMB key personnel will implement the model. The model is adjustable and allows for different marketers to add-on to it thus giving it the much desired qualities of “agility” and adaptability.

It is crucial that the outcome of this research be disseminated to the SMB audience, marketers, academics, through the body of core marketing related professional literature, as well as by word of mouth and practice through the work of key individual practitioners within the field of marketing.

Introduction

My WBP (Work Based Project) is going to deal with the creation of a robust, easy to understand Continuing Professional Development (CPD) model to be used in a training programme for small to medium size business (SMB) organizations. The training programme will be aimed at the managing teams of SMBs creating a well adjusted, unique, operational marketing scheme and a clear strategic understanding of their organization.

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of SMB staff is the means by which member SMB organizations

can maintain, improve and broaden the praxis and the personal qualities of their leading teams (The Chartered

Institute of Professional Development, 2000).

The Purpose (Mission)

  • Make sure that SME will have a robust marketing system.

Objectives

It is the researcher’s main aim to create a training tool that will significantly  improve the effectiveness of SMBs.

The outcomes of the WBP will be released for free upon demand.  This work will be translated to as many languages as possible to be spread around the globe for the use by SMBs.

Moreover, the model will be dynamic with enough flexibility and agility to welcome new developments in the marketing area.
